I am Jeremy Daniel Goodwyne and this is my little corner of the web to collect my things and thoughts. GoodWyrds is a synthesis of my last name and that which I hope to do here; namely, write good words.
I am the Director of Worship for Uptown Church, a PCA church in downtown Charlotte, NC. We gather for worship at the Great Aunt Stella Center (previously the historic Tabernacle ARP church). I’ve been at Uptown 2009, thanks be to God.
I hail from the blessed South– Georgia and then South Carolina. I earned a B. A. in Music (Classical Guitar) from Anderson University in Anderson, SC and then a Masters of Church Music from Erskine Theological Seminar in Due West, SC. I’ve been involved with and actively leading church music since the late 90’s in a variety of church contexts from youthgroups to megachurches, traditional to contemporary, rock bands to choirs, high liturgy to low liturgy, Praise & Worship to straight hymns, and many things in between. I love the great diversity expressed in Christian worship across times, cultures, languages, and other barries. The Lord has graciously gifted me musically and given me a heart for church worship.
Apart from that, I am married to Julie Goodwyne, an amazingly talented Interior Designer and lover of all things Christmas. I have a dog named Chloe who has more personality in her face than most people I know. I love to build things, take things apart, figure them out, put them back together. I love to read and write, both music and not-music. I love being outside, sitting with close brothers and sisters around a fire with a glass of Maker’s Mark and talking into the night. I love music in general. All kinds.
You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, AboutMe, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and probably a hundred other sites.
